Jaguar Mind Therapy
Become someone you trust.

This work isn’t about quick fixes. Instead, we get curious. We build a relationship with the part of you that keeps reaching for something despite your efforts to stop.

Healing often begins not with control, but with understanding. We dive deep to understand how your patterns formed, what they once protected, and why they no longer fit your present life.

This work is about awareness, small sustainable shifts, and learning to recognize your internal signals before they become automatic reactions. It’s a long game. It requires practice. It asks for honesty.
If you feel too busy for that, I’ll offer you a Zen reminder:

If you don’t have 20 minutes to sit with what you're feeling, you need an hour.

Change is not instant. But it is possible. And it begins with showing up.
“I will walk with you through the darkness, as you remember your light.”
My approach is rooted in curiosity, honesty, and relationship. I don’t believe healing happens from a list of techniques or theories alone, though I draw from many (person-centered, psychodynamic, IFS, depth-oriented work, DBT, etc.) The core of my approach is being attuned to where you authentically are and meeting you there, whatever that means on a given day.

The process is constantly, uniquely evolving, both in and out of therapy for us both. While you’re working to water the seeds that we planted in our sessions, I am committed to constantly continuing to learn and grow as a clinician and human. Each session, we both show up to the process in new and more enlightened ways than the last, letting it take us where we need to go. The “finish line” may be the reason you came to therapy in the first place, but the process is the point.

Hi, I'm Stephen! My path to becoming a therapist was deeply personal. For over a decade, I battled addiction, depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I was in and out of therapy, treatment centers, support groups, and every modality and approach I could find, searching for a way out of the darkness. Despite feeling lost, I had a part of me that was always searching for purpose. During one of my own group therapy sessions, a therapist saw something in me that I couldn't yet see in myself, he suggested that I could become a therapist.
This moment changed the course of my life. While working in residential addiction treatment, I went back to school, and eventually earned my master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. My personal experience has given me a profound understanding of what it’s like to feel stuck, hopeless, and completely alone. It has also taught me that healing is not only possible, it is our natural inclination. This conviction is the heart of my practice.

When I'm not in a session, I love to move my body. I practice martial arts and find a great deal of joy and vitality in exercise. I am also fascinated by health and wellness and how we can optimize our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through complementary modalities. I enjoy spending time outside, with my family, and with my animals.
